To list for a Hospitality Exchange on this site is easy, but first you need to become a member.
When you list you will be asked to specify whether you are listing for: Home Exchange, Solo Hospitality, Couples Hospitality or Family Hospitality. You simply tick the listing reasons that apply to you (tick at least one but you can tick all that apply). Please note: The listing facility is generic so please ignore any reference you may see for Rental. For all listings (including Hospitality) you will be asked to enter details of your property and (if possible) upload photos (but you don't have to), because pictures do make an enormous difference to how a listing is perceived. You will be able to change the initial details you enter at any time, you simply login to this site using your selected email and password and once logged in, you will then be transferred to your personal control panel where you can edit all your details.
So, imagine you're searching for a Hospitality Exchange, what would attract you to a particular listing. It may be location, which could be in an area or city that you've always wanted to visit, or it may simply be that you like the description of the property and the details of the person(s) with whom you would be staying with.
Clearly if you're going to be staying with someone and then later, they will be staying with you at your home, you will get the most from a hospitality exchange if you get to know one another through emails, photos and common interests. This is the reason that when you list for a hospitality exchange it is appropriate to provide some details about yourself (or yourselves, in the case of a couple), your interests and the places you like to visit. In truth, it's all up to you as how you write a description of your property, location with any personal details, but just think about what might attract someone to make a listing enquiry.
In order to make an enquiry, you will already have become a member of this website and ideally, already listed your own property for hospitality. Your listing will have a reference number associated with it which you can include in your enquiry message to make it easy for your prospective hospitality partner(s) to find your own listing.
When you view a listing which interests you enough to make an enquiry, at the bottom of the listing you will see an enquiry form. Use this form to provide your contact details and complete your enquiry message and then click 'send'. We do not provide any members direct contact information on this website to protect member's privacy, but our system will forward your message directly to the listing party's email address.
When you receive a response to your enquiry, you will also get the responder's direct contact email address which then enables you to start a direct dialogue. Hopefully, things will proceed well and you'll be able to firm up on any tentative arrangements for a very enjoyable hospitality visit.
Membership entitles you to list your property for any type of exchange and also contact any other member who is also listed. Your membership personal control panel allows you to edit all details relating to your listing including a facility to allow you to add attractive descriptions about your home or area, formatted as you prefer. You can also choose to receive email alerts whenever someone makes an enquiry about your listing.
If you want to indicate when you are open to an exchange on a calendar, then you can do so. Each listing has a unique calendar associated with it.
When you list for an exchange you gain access to a personal listing control panel that lets you specify exactly the sort of exchange you're interested in. So for example, you can set up the type of exchange:

- Solo Hospitality
- Couples Hospitality
- Family Hospitality
You can set up your listing so that you receive email alerts when you are sent an enquiry. You can also set out the geographic locations that you are most interested to exchange with. The control panel tools allow you to set up your listing to attract relevant enquiries (exchange dates and preferred exchange locations) and you can also set up automatic responses to enquiries you receive, if you so choose. This means that anyone viewing your listing and wishing to contact you is aware that you are a U3A member. This identification means that parties have more in common which we believe 'adds value' to contacts you make.
